The Shure SM7B is the de facto industry standard cardioid dynamic broadcast microphone, the same model used on Michael Jackson's Thriller, in countless radio booths, and on most professional podcasts you can name. Its closed-back dynamic capsule, internal air-suspension shock isolation, classic and presence-boost frequency-response switches and bullet-proof internal pop filter make it almost impossible to misuse for spoken-word recording.
